It's been fun to figure out ways to manage things with two babies. Here's a glimpse into what we do. Any tips are appreciated!
I usually feed the babies a couple of times a day by myself. I wasn't sure how this was going to work out, but it's actually been fine. When they used to take only bottles, I'd put them in a seat and swing right next to each other and hold up the bottles for both of them at the same time. The first one to get in the seat before we started eating got a little impatient while he or she was waiting, but we're working on patience anyway (a necessary thing when you're a "twin").
Now that they're eating rice cereal I put them in high chairs next to each other and take turns feeding one mouth at a time. It's actually helped with building patience! It is messier and slower, but very cute...
If I need to do a quick trip to the store with the kids, I'll use the double stroller (which stays stored in the back of our minivan). If I have to do a big trip to the grocery store with them, I'll put one baby in a car seat in the front of the grocery cart and wear the other baby in a sling. It works really well! I love it because I have eye contact with both babies and can interact with them a lot of the time we're shopping.
The kids are so close in age that we keep them on the same eat/wake/sleep schedule as each other. That makes mommy's life a lot easier and more predictable. I love having two babies!

Um, you're awesome! Only tip: whatever works!
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures- you guys simply ROCK. We didn't have our 'twins' until they were a bit older so I don't really have any wonderful tips for you. Right now- we just make sure we have two of everything. :0) Keep doing what you are doing because you all look pretty happy doing it.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I do regarding feeding them solids and going to the store! The twins LOVE going to the store, so I try to take them on every shopping trip. It looks like you are figuring things out! And doing a great job!
