I think I've posted on here that we finished up our home study update not too long ago, and we just mailed off our immigration paperwork updating our address with them. I emailed our adoption agency last night to check on what happens next, thinking that we could start working on our dossier. If any of you followed our Ethiopian adoption, you might remember that the dossier was a LOT of paperwork, much more than the home study.
It turns out that I didn't read the 119 page Congo manual closely enough to realize that for Congo, the dossier basically includes our home study and immigration paperwork. Our agency said that we'll work on the one remaining dossier item next, but it's something we'll have to do after we get a referral.
So that means we're now officially waiting for a referral.
I had no idea we were at this point in the process. I was honestly expecting it to take a couple of months for us to work on our dossier before we'd be put on a waiting list. Praise the Lord!
